Do people who read Manga read novels too?

Every time I go to a movie at the local mall, I always stop by the Barnes and Noble book store to see what books kids are browsing. This is mainly due to my own personal market research for my own book, which I happen to be writing.

What I noticed is that the majority of the teenagers who were in the Barnes and Noble were huddled in groups around the Manga section. Out of curiousity, I bought a few manga books to see what they were like. I must confess though I have never been into comic books, not even as a kid. However it made me wonder, if teenagers today actually read, or if they only enjoy books with lots of pictures in them.

My book happens to be a novel targeted at teens. However, I am now beginning to wonder if they would even bother to read my book, because currently it doesn't have any pictures in them (yet).

So my question to you is, if you read Manga, do you also read novels?

Should I put lots of pictures in my novel to make it more like a manga?
